The Duncan Moore Fund

Duncan Moore was a very talented young cricketer who represented both School and County during his time at RGS. As an attacking middle order batsman, a lively fast-medium bowler and an athletic fielder, Duncan was a cricketing all-rounder. His enthusiasm for the game was matched by his excellence on the pitch, often challenging a batsman with an ability to change his bowling from right to left arm during an over. Duncan left RGS in 1996 to study languages and it was during his overseas year, whilst living in Belgium, that wintry conditions caused a car accident in which Duncan lost his life.

It is fitting that this fund has been named after Duncan, a young man whose talent was respected by staff, peers and opponents alike and whose enjoyment and enthusiasm for the sport of cricket embodied the values and ethos running through the cricket programme at RGS today.

Donors wishing to support the Duncan Moore Fund may do so by visiting the Cricket website.
